G Major 7

I wish that I could see you
To hold your hand and kiss your cheek

I wish that I could hear you
Saying those words that make me weak

I wish that I could feel you
Feeling you fall within my arms

I wish that I could taste you
Such sweet lips erotic kiss

Something beautiful hits me
Knocking me down on my ass
Impending like a bullet
Quickly released coming in fast
There’s not much I can do now
There’s not much I can do now

There’s not much I can do now
Quickly released coming in fast
Impending like a bullet
Knocking me down on my ass
Something beautiful hits me
Something beautiful hits me

Something beautiful hurts me
Something beautiful kills me

Nylon

Dont manipulate me like nylon strings
for I am not a guitar      acoustic maybe
never could I be plugged in
never could you grip my neck
and finger me

dont blow into my ear as if I was a trumpet
nonsense words turn into lies through
detection     I am that- critical critique
with no room for sarcastic bullshit
no room for useless words.

Spaceman Lover

I visited the bathroom    as I do every morning
To drain myself from the previous night’s libations
I was shocked when I reached down to hold myself
my penis was gone    nothing but a hole remained
I thought to myself  where did it fall off this time

I felt like a female     what a way to go out I thought
Then I remembered that I have a detachable penis
I must have left it in bed  under my pillow
Or left it hanging next to my neck-ties in the closet

I hoped my girlfriend didn’t have it
She steals it often and doesn’t call me for weeks
The last time I suspected her was a real horror-show
I found space man lover in the litter box all beat up

I called up my girlfriend and begged her please
Help me find my space man lover
That’s the name she gave it     I don’t know why
I wanted to call it worm  bean  or  Frankenstein

She persisted to call it space man lover
She says she sees stars when I’m inside her
Whatever     it’s just sex I said      nothing astronomical
I know I’m good    but it’s just a little of the ol’ in and out

I know she has space man lover   lately she’s been sitting funny
I know that it’s stuffed way inside her panty drawer
or in the secret pocket of her purse    placed between lipsticks
I know she has it   she’s never been so happy.

Lovely in Her Bones

Allow me please If I may
to step into the room where you rest your bones
soft and furrowed you hide your face between feathers
between pillows, between the spaces I have slept in the past

I worry not knowing the contents of your dreams
nor your intentions of love involving myself
I remember how you would turn in the night
twitching with the hours like a rusty can opener

moving sloth-like possibly counting sheep as your
hands moved recklessly across my face
I didn’t mind the slapping or the fact that you didn’t know my name
you always looked lovely sleeping in your skin

I worry not knowing the contents of your dreams
I sleep sometimes next to a stranger
sometimes a mystery
Always a girlfriend.

Warmth of Her Breath

She was watching TV
                    Sitting at the window
As I walked in the door

I couldn’t miss her
Not the way her eyes focused
                                                           In and out

During the commercials
Such a wide smile on her face
                                      Bright lips painted red

When closed        loosely touching
                                       Resembling another pair
                                                            below her waist
Enveloped in cotton.

I stand helplessly waiting
                     Staring and hoping
                                        That I would kiss her

The commercials ended       and once again
                                                            she’s focused

Anxiously breathing             I stand by the window
                                                             waiting to taste her lips

Hoping to find comfort
In the warmth of her breath.

Inscribed Heart

It’s obvious that I’m wounded
My pain comes through my chest

I believe it’s my heart again
It hurts and so I deal with it

Sometimes I think how I could take it out
Some days having a heart is useless

And some days I love love
Most of the time it’s a good pain

I’m sure that if I cut it out
                   my heart that is

There inscribed
                  would be your name
